with a B+ of 24V. I bought a pack of Energizer batteries and "string" them up for both the 6V filament part (4*1.5V D size) and a string of 9V (I sting 2 or 3 together, can't remember) and the sound was quiet.Sorry I just can't remember the details anymore. It was about 13 years ago (I made it for my uncle).
