my buddy uses the Alon Circes with a VT-100 mkII amp at 100wpc in his large room and I don't know how 8-12wpc would do on those speakers. He just got the Magnum preamp and loves it, but one has to be careful with how one mates his speakers to an amp, or vice versa. Many of these speaker makers will tell you that they run the lowly 45 with their 89db speakers and while they may get decent sound in smaller rooms, I just have wonder if they're not being a tad overly optimistic.Of course, if you don't have a large room and if you listen at lower , less than realistic volumes, you might be able to get away with it, but 8w will only go so far.
