Gaincard 4706 vs Pass Aleph 3

142.22.16.52

I have read a lot of very good opinions of the 47 Labs Gaincard 4706 amplifier. I am currently using SETs, but have always been a fan of well executed, low-powered SS amps (DNM, Scott, Pass, etc.). Before I got into tubes, I was very happy with a Pass Aleph 3, but tubes were better (in my system). I got the Pass originally because of the great reviews and the elegance and simplicity of the design. I admire the 47 Labs gear for the same reasons.

The reviews that I have read about the 4706 remind me of those that were written about the Aleph 3, mainly the comparisons with tubes in terms of transparency, immediacy, soundstage and midrange reproduction.

Can anyone compare the Pass and Gaincard? Any impressions based on hearing both will be helpful.
