I remember that preamp quite well when it came out. It was the first SS design to really compete with the SP-3a. And looked cool with its form factor and engraved front panel.

For about ten years (1994-2004), I put DACT attenuators in a Par Metals case that looked similar for use with a GamuT CDP as it sounded better for line output than the SP-9MKIII used at the time. I had some leftover knobs from a silver to black preamp conversion and used them. Still have it.
