My current amp is a VTV Purifi stereo which I personally think is great.

However I'm pretty sure none of the class D amps I've had, including the Purifi, sound anything like an Audio Note amp. Frankly designers of most class D amps have different design goals that the designers of tube amps such as the AN.

To generalize a bit, most class D designers have sought extremely low distortion where as most tube designers have sought a euphonic sound. (I note that while extremely low distortion is objectively definable while what is "euphonic" largely depends on the ear of the listener.)

There is one class D designer that I know of whose SQ criterion is closer to euphonic goal. That is Atma-Sphere, a long-time tube amp maker, whose recent class D, GaNFET amp was design with euphonic presentation in mind. The the link below.

N.B. I am not necessarily recommending the Atma-Sphere class D which I have not heard.
