I went to Best Buy today and had them look it up. Turns out i bought it January of 2015, so I am ten months out of warranty.
Boy how time flies when you are having fun.Anyway, the sales guy tried his best to discourage me from fixing it and just order a new RC 1572 for $1200, saying it could take months to get the parts, and could cost almost what the new one would. I said yeah maybe, I will think about it.
I went home and called the shop that Les recommended, they sounded very good and reasonable so I will be going there tomorrow. I may even take my old Denon 2910 CD player and see what they can do about that. It stopped putting out anything from the analog RCAs awhile ago, so I have been using it as a transport only.
And yes, you guessed it, I bought that from Best Buy also decades ago.If the cost is ridiculous, I may just get some Schiit, but it would take three pieces of Schiit to replace that preamp, well just two more as I already have a Modi3. So maybe just a Freya and a Loki, then it still wouldn't have blutooth.
Well we shall see.
