IIRC, isn't Accuphase Kenwood's boutique brand?
Not quite, but close.
Accuphase was founded by the Kasuga brothers, who split from Kenwood/Trio because they wanted to make hi-fi equipment whereas Kenwood wanted to go mass market. The name they chose for their new company was Kensonic Laboratory, which was eventually changed to Accuphase Laboratory because that was their only brand. For many years Kenwood was a minority owner in Kensonic. And back when Kenwood was still selling hi-fi kit, at least some of it was designed by the folks at Kensonic. So they were close.
Another bit of trivia is that the founder of Kenwood is a Japanese-American named William Kasuga, but no relation (that I know of) to the Japanese Kasuga brothers who broke off to found Kensonic.
