I finally found some time to listen closer to the Truth Pre amp and what difference I heard between now and before (The Truth).
Music used were different Jazz performers recorded on Chesky CDs.
Since I am not good in writing any long and explicit reviews I am just posting my listening notes I took while listening to the music.
On piano music I can hear a lot more reverberation of the room it was recorded in.
Percussion is no longer coming from one point, but actually has more left and right info – more spread out - since the size of a percussion set covers usually a few feet of real-estate. There are a few feet between the High-Hats and the large Tom-Tom, with the smaller Tom-Toms in between.
It seems as a veil between me and the musicians have been removed.
Attacks on each note are clearer and more distinct. Music sounds fresh and alive.
Some small details that seemed to be smeared together before can now be clearly heard, if the recording allows it.
Sense of front to back is more increased.
Like I mentioned in my preliminary review; using the Truth is like opening the window and looking straight out without anything in between.
So my Motto still stands: LESS IS MORE
Amps used in this listening session were Bottlehead S.E.X. amp and the Single-Ended, Class A, Cathode Follower Amp made by Transcendent (on loan from a friend). Speakers used were Horn Shoppe Horns. CD Player was a Cary 308T.
