Choosing an amp

I love the color and warmth of tubes, but am wary of the power needed to drive my Mag 2.5R (yes, you read right - this is a discountinue model, probably closest to the 1.6). I bought these second hand and am a Maggie "virgin."

Here are my options (I'm being offered a good deal on display units):
1. Unico PRE and DM (pre and power amps) - each component is a SS/tube hybrid.

2. Unison Research C5P and P30K (pre and power) - each are full tube components.

Fomr what I've read at this forum, the tube pre and SS power seems to be the way to go (for me at least), but I have to buy the above components as a set from the dealer.
