I also couldn't get Class D to work for me with my 1.7i's. I sent 3 back. I did borrow a Bryston 4B (very nice amp) that sounded great but there wasn't that much of a difference between it and the XPA-2 Gen 3. If you do have the capital, get the Bryston mono's.
