Years ago, I consulted for Sony Classical on the remastering of the Young People's Concerts and had a chance to watch all of them, including the one I'd attended as a kid. (I wasn't in the audience, though, each was given twice and I wasn't at the televised performance.) Wonderful stuff.
And there are other programs as well that are also wonderful -- the Harvard Lectures, etc.
