You just need an active preamp - not sure there should be a problem with the Quicksilvers unless you try to get full volume. For unambitious volume in a small to medium room you are probably fine. Plenty of options to take music off your pc and provide enough gain. A USB DAC with ample output gain should do it, or a nice tube preamp like the new Rogue RP-1, which also has a good phono section.
