RE: Moving away from planars?

Hi Scott - Are your experiences with your 1.7 with the room being only 11 x 13 feet? If so, that is a very small space for the likes of the size of the 1.7s. I assume you must have the listening position set up in some near field approach. I, too, am trying to find long term panel speakers (or hybrid thereof) that will work in smaller spaces (short of planar headphones). The fact that most are dipoles that need space behind and in front makes the list quite short. And I have fussed over the thought of Quads (ESLs) but decided they would not be keepers.
