If the panels worked before you upgraded, and they worked for Magnepan, clearly you are doing something wrong when you put your new parts in. You will need an ohm-meter to check things out.First, measure the resistance by placing the leads on each end of the 50 mfd cap. The meter will jump a bit and then settle to ~3.9 ohms. If you get no reading the speaker is bad or not connected to the tabs.
Re-measure by putting one lead on the positive input terminal and the leaving the other on the connection with the white wire attached. It should again read 3.9 ohms. If not the connection is broken - try re-soldering.
Now move the lead from the positive input to the negative input leaving the other lead at the same point (white wire). You should get ~0.5 ohm. If not the problem lies with the connections to the coil. Again- resolder.
I see on the schematic that there are two black wires. One goes from the negative terminal to the fuse block and the other comes from the woofer/cap and goes to the positive terminal where the red wire comes off. Make sure you didn't miswire.
I hate to say the obvious, but if you can't use an ohm-meter, you have no business doing DIY upgrades to your equipment. Soldering requires much more skill than using a meter.
