Magnepan makes no such recommendation! here they are talking about the audition in a stereo store using one of the store's amps.

"The amplifier used in this test should have a similar 4 ohm rating as the amplifier you plan to use at home, but it is not necessary for it to be identical to your amplifier. Anyone that has a definite answer to this question (without having met you) is probably telling you their personal preference."

Treat the MA6200 as a 100 watt amplifier
