I see 2 problems:
a) the copper pins will shirley need to be quite thick, to support the weight of the XO box? This means the HF signal will be travelling through very thick wire - which is a bad thing, IMO.
And the copper surface will corrode, over time.
b) the XO box will be subject to the vibrations which the driver generates in the frame ... in contrast to when it's on the floor, resting on some isolation material. Again, that is a bad thing AFAIAC.
