RE: ficus trees

It all depends of which species of ficus you have. If it's ficus benjamina, then they'll attenuate highs if it's nearer to the speakers; if it's ficus carica you run the risk of losing midrange focus if it's too near the wall.

Also important is what kind of music the plants listened to while they were growing; if you mismatch you may find that certain CDs won't image quite as well as you'd like. Machinodynamica offers ficus raised on Furtwangler, Ella Fitzgerald or -of course- Phish, so be sure you have the appropriate style for your taste.

And of course you had better use demagnetized water on them or ALL bets are off.....
