RE: Another "What was he thinking?" moment....

I would at least suggest he let them break in. Likely much of what he's hearing as "wrong" has to do with brand new speakers, more than room (my MG20's sounded awful for the first 2 months) I agree something else is probably motivating the sale. Hey, that couch gets pretty uncomfortable after 2 days!
OTOH, selling them essentially new allows him to cut his losses. Who knows, with a friendly dealer, this sale price might even represent his cost.
