CDC, since I can't do a thing about this until I get home in February, I've been looking into the history and properties of the salt itself. This has been haltingly, in between croissants, but I find interesting stuff. (Like, I am not supposed to aim my X-ray gun at it, really.)

One item caught my attention. It appears that some of this salt's properties change if it absorbs humidity. Which, for us living in Florida...

I may be a few croissants and espressos away from finding specifics as they may relate to our purpose. Have you seen or observed anything along these lines so far?

If I remember correctly I introduced this tweak about 2.5 months ago. I have not read or had feedback that the performance of the tweak has diminished over time or has not worked for someone. The users of this tweak are from all around the world. What I do not know, and is impossible for me to compare to is the differences between climates. I personally live in a dry climate. If where you live has a humid climate, you can share your experience when you try the tweak.

  Thanks. The impression I got from reading about this effect is that it is not "quick". Furthermore, the salt is encapsulated in plastic, which would delay whatever impact there might be. Oh well, perhaps I'll just prepare an extra set, with "wet bags", and compare during the initial round; with a just a handful of outlets. LOL, we might discover a Wet Sound SQ dimension to the salt.
  
  ...or I overdo the wetting and get electrocuted. :)
