I found granite sink cut outs at the local stone yard 13 bucks cash and carry. Dont use them on the bottom of anything it rings at a specific freq use it on the tops of things for added mass.
Thanx Bill

But I wwonder how loud I have to go to produce an audible ringing from a sink size slab of granite.
By the way...that was a great suggestion... I found a local place that offered them cheap as well and would even cut them for a small fee if I wanted them squared off.
I'm also looking at large platforms made of various synthetic counter top materials like cultured stone and Corian and the like. Also butcher block.
Thanks for some good ideas guys!
There are a variety of countertop materials manufactured from Quartz and granite aggregates bonded with epoxy (or another agent?) that would offer the weight of natural granite but perhaps not the ringing. Sink cut-outs should be available from those materials as well.
