Took The Bryston back to the dealer as my time with it was up. Switching back and forth this last week between my Cary (tubed) and Bryston (SS) I've realized that I prefer the warmth of tubes. I've narrowed the search to the McIntosh C-2600 (Tubed) the Audio Research Reference 3, and the LS28. Any thoughts on these choices, or something else I should consider? thanks
Follow Ups:
Lamm LP2.1 kills those others in my listening and owning experience. They pop up used from time to time. This one is overpriced a bit but maybe they would come down?

Is there something about the Cary that does not suffice?
I liked my Cary SLP-03 very much. I just out grew it. My needs now are for 2 balanced XLR outputs. I've been looking at the used boards for a Cary SLP-05 but nothing is available.
I never heard the SLP-03 but do own the 05 and it sounds amazing (to me :)). If you are not dead set on the others, do find a chance to listen to the 05.
I've never been tempted to spend a fortune on a box that takes a line-level input, and outputs the same, maybe with some diminution or amplification. So I've stuck with the Manley Shrimp. It's quiet, nicely dynamic when called on, always musical, well made.
I *am* going to spend an as yet unknown sum for EveAnna's upcoming Ultimate preamp. No pots with noisy wipers (no pots or wipers at all), no physical switches (all relays), no 60 Hz present in the chassis from the power supply transformer (no transformer at all.) Front-panel controls are all encoders, letting you set the characteristics of all inputs as phono or line, and set the sensitivity, capacitance, and impedance or each on the fly, using the front-panel controls or your phone. Her switch-mode power supply drops the noise floor drastically, from reports of customers using her current-production Massive Passive and tube mics. If it ever comes out it may be a game-changer. FWIW, the phono section is a variation on her Chinook phono stage with its four-corner RIAA EQ. Now all we need is a delivery date, which is apparently not imminent, as she hasn't released any beta units yet.
