The 'Electron Tub Locator' by G. Fathauer has no listing for a 574B. It would be helpful to point us to a link that includes this tube.
Very sorry, I was mistaken I meant to say 274B not 574B
Modern Chinese 274B tubes are 5U4GB tubes with 274B written on them to cash in on the "mystique" of the Western Electric 274B which very few people have heard.
Buy a high quality US made 5U4GB from the 1950s or 1960s for long life and good sound.
1960s Tung Sol 5U4GB will give a WE 274 'a run for the money'.
The 274 was more of a 5R4 anyway. IOW, not much peak current capacity, but able to tolerate more PIV. Check the specs per the usage, and if it is a modern 'approximation' use some caution... :)
cheers,
Douglas
Friend, I would not hurt thee for the world...but thou art standing where I am about to shoot.
