run tube amplifier based systems? I'm guessing about 60%.
What is your guess?
Follow Ups:
Currently having issues with both a preamp and mono block (not the tubes themselves).
Seriously considering transitioning to SS, I'm getting too old for this but really enjoyed them prior to the problems (over 20 years in various configurations).
Hi!
I have 5 different choices to use for different music styles. 2A3, 300B, GM70, KT88 and EL156. Mostly triodes for piano/guitar and voice and pentodes för rock.
When the entire system is turned on.
14 for me. Transcendent GG preamp and T8-LN OTL power amp (20 wpc).
How much power are you getting for all those tubes?
. I judge any sound system by how tiring it is to listen to.

not counting the rectifiers and the regulators (VR tubes).

"Still Working the Problem"
Still may be better than any solid state stuff I can afford or even not afford.
My estimate ~~~ No more than 35% of inmates.
Running all tubes here in four of out of the five systems.
The fifth system is a 5.1 Marantz SS amp and 5.1 pre/tuner. Polk SDAs all around 'cept the center.
I used to have two 5.1 setups. Using another of the same preamp, but with a tube amp on each channel. Martin Logans in the front....blah blah blah. That was the best 5.1 I've ever heard.

I'd GUESS somewhat lower.....probably less than 50%,
BUT would love to see some real data. And be prepared to be surprised....
I am considering a pair of the VTA M-125 amps and selling my Parasound amps....
Too much is never enough
Tube linestage, phono stage and amplifier. Solid state for the music server. The tube gear is also tube rectified.
Tube pre and SS power here.
May be upwards of 60%. At Steve Hoffman I guess about 40%. AA has more refined audiophiles vs other sites. Tuned tube amps always sound better than SS IMO.
I use tubes for highs in a bi-amp configuration, SS for lows.
I can't imagine not having tubes in any future system. Love what they do.
Without music what is there?
EL34, EL84, 300B and 2A3. Sometimes in heavy rotation.
EL84, EL84, 300B and 2A3. Sometimes in heavy rotation.
In this particular tube sub-forum, that is.

Been in the tube camp for a long time, started with various 300B based amps, and am now listening through 211's.
I have 4 current systems set up and they all use tubes and solid state amplifiers (for low frequency) combined
