Hi, I have come across some NOS mullard valves and even though I've read the other threads here I need some help with the dates! I'm most interested in the ECC83's. They all have old style logos and round getters. Their codes are:
Tube 1: +91
B8FTube 2: +61
BOLTube 3(labelled ECC83 and 12AX7):B16
Tube 4: +92
B9DTube 5: B3K3
Tube 6: B7H4By the way the + looks like a Christian cross. Thanks for your help!

Hi ,
Valve 1 f91 1958 code , valve 2 I61 code 1960 , valve 3 f92 code 1959 , valve I63 4 1963 , valve 5 I63 1967 . All Blackburn UK . Valves 1 and 3 will be longplate . All the others shortplate , valve 2 may have copper grid posts , the others nickel . Hope this helpscheers
I pretty much agree with fatbottle, except that all these likely have bare copper grid posts except the last one noted, plus there were 6 tubes listed!f91 B8F 6/58 longplate w/halo held aloft by two legs
I61 B0L 12/60 shortplate
I61 B1G (can't be "B16") 7/61 shortplate
f92 B9D 4/59 longplate w/halo on one straight post
I63 B3K3 shortplate; actually w/o further info it could be 3rd week of 11/63 or 11/73; if copper support rods and straight rod on the halo it's 1963
I63 B7H4 ditto, except either 4th week of '67 or '77, and either would have plated grid rods not bare Cu; if the halo is welded at right angle to straight support rod it's '67.
I just re-read and saw they all have old logos, so no '70s!
And last one is 4th week of AUGUST '67.
That's great. Thanks for your help.

Actually, I believe that tubes with one number(B8F,B9D etc.) are actually from the 1950's.I own a trio of Voice of Music labeled Mullard ECC83 with B9I date codes and have always thought 1959.Four digit/letters are from the '60's and 70's.
you have all real stuff .
all made in blackburn plant. 60's stuff
Cheers
