I'm 72, and that makes no sense to me. My 211 monos each weigh almost that much, and top side handles would be the worst way to carry them. handles would also clutter the look of the amps. Don't forget that amps like this benefit from having plenty of airflow from underneath. Spacing the bottom up off the mounting surface simultaneously provides good ventilation and the best way to grab on. Hope I'm wrong, but I think you'll eventually regret installing those.
Follow Ups:
I sorta like handles but I don't usually build anything with handles.
I am presently building a pair of monoblocks from Dynaco(M 125) on one chassis(Melos chassis) and it weighs a ton but handles aren't in the cards for this project. I think handles would help being able to move it but the look of them would interfere with the aesthetics.
I'll just eat more spinach that day I need to move them.
At 72, you are at an age where health problems can start to restrict your ability to perform simple activities like lifting.
Here in Australia, bottles of wine come in cardboard boxes of 6, and weigh approximately 16.5 pounds. When I get them home from the boozatorium, I have to carry them up 35 steps. It's much easier to carry them if I put the box of wine in a strong bag with a handle than carrying the box under my arm. Try it.
These days I use platforms with wheels (dollies) to move my heavier amps around and also try to incorporate techniques to easily disassemble them prior to moving them if I want to work on them.

It did not take me too long to start worrying about moving my 4E27 amps...and they are already two piece. The single-chassis 26HU5 amps are another. Next on the building list is a pair of HY51A amps, and even in two-chassis per channel are not going to be light...
Even the linestages are moving towards the 'too heavy for convenience' realm.

Friend, I would not hurt thee for the world...but thou art standing where I am about to shoot.
I can still remember two of us lugging one of your mono-blocks into the library.

Those meets you organized were memorable for a whole host of good reasons too.. :)

I completely approve of handles. When you build stuff it's on and off the bench so a lot of lifting happens. But for anything over 12 kilos (26lb) I use separate boxes. The PSU is routinely outboard.
The best handles were on Radford amps.
