I dont know if its a risk or not they will run out but they havent seemed to raise the prices any to reflect the fact they may run out..I wonder why there are so many tho? Here is the thing. We know the soviet union and most of eastern europe for that matter never quit producing vacuum tubes and Im not sure what their purpose was for making so many paper in oil and teflon caps was but I sure would like to find out.It also makes me wonder if they are still building k40s and the k72 teflons in the underground somewhere.I know pio caps were used in the US military a lot as my collins R390A receivers I have use vit Q caps in a few places.
After seeing your remark I did a quick search and found my faves (opposite end of the spectra, the SSG Soviet silver mica) is in current production. I assumed it too was fire-sale former military product so who knows?http://www.allsiberia.com/novosibirsk/BUSINESS/capacitor.html

Thanks rdf.Your a lifesaver
My mac c20 I changed the caps to vitaman Qs and k40s which was about 27 caps including coupling and innerstage and decoupling. In the tonal circuit tho there are ceramics and this is in additon to the 27 and I know they have a good freq response but they ring..I took those out and there were several and they were four 4700pf and two 2200pf and two 6800pf etc.I had put in some little orange drop type caps of the same value and they may be polypro or polyester not sure which.Anyway I always had to accent the treble to like 1 oclock on the preamp with the ceramics and when I changed to the orange caps I had to go to all the way up almost..I was looking for good quality silver micas and hopfully this will solve the issue..Im not using the martin logans right now because I have them apart redoing the bias circuit.Maybe its my imagination about the treble but I think the old tone control circuits have issues that can be corrected I hope anyway.
