  Rationalization bias is something we all do. I now run my primary turntable and phono stage through a digital recorder, even when I'm just listening to an album. Using 24-192 sampling and the recorder's DAC for the analog connection to my preamp it sounds very good. Not exactly the same as running the phono stage directly to the preamp, but it's similarly enjoyable. That's my rationalization bias, appears Abe basically stated his.
  
  As for his claim that "...digitizing vinyl is tedious work best suited for old retired guys with nothing better to do"; as an old retired guy I agree. ;-)

    I would find it even more tedious to take loads of pictures of how I install boxes in my garage and post them here!
