PS Audio once sold the NuWave Phono ADC for $2000 before they dropped the price to $1000 and then discontinued it.I had the $2000 NuWave Phono ADC on loan and the $300 HRT LineStreamer+ ADC. I used both for digitizing LPs at 24/96 and I heard no difference. For one thing, LPs lack the dynamic range and resolution to warrant anything higher than about 24/96.
- The NuWave Phono is a ADC and phono preamp in one.
- The HRT LineStreamer+ was used with an outboard phono.
I used Audacity software and compared the two setups against each other "visually" in the Audacity waveforms and audibly playing back the digitized LPs.
Both setups did an outstanding job.

Either setup would be fine for any normal person, and even normal audiophiles. However, there are some among us who can detect a gnat fart from 10 yards away ;-)

All you have 'proved' is that you could not tell the difference, It is not just the ADC but also your cartridge and turntable. The latter is not particularly good and if your cartridge is not up to standard, you may not hear any differences.EStat's post below shows that he can hear the effects of the device you used.

You're pretty good at stating the obvious. Since you seem to be so familiar with digitizing vinyl, please share your system setup for the benefit of others. I gave up on digitizing vinyl long ago - not worth the hassle.

I have had many high end turntables with similar cartridges. Linn Sondek, Yamaha GT1,Garrard 301, Pioneer PL1 Linear Tracking, Luxman vacuum etc. Cartridges include Koetsu Rosewood, Dynavector Diamond, AT, etc etc. Also MC Transformers as well as preamps etc.
What does your vinyl digitizing equipment consist of ??
OK, Wadia ADC, Accuphase system, Pioneer 96k digital tape, DIY upsampling ADC, using first class source such as BBC Proms live music broadcasts and HQ vinyl.
That is a lot more experience than you claim to have. There is always a difference after digitising, notably loss of air, shrinkage in sound stage, or drier treble. The tape system is actually good because of the 48k base frequency.
One of the reasons is that ADC have coupling capacitors to the source and SQ is affected by the quality of these. Another reason is the additions of quite a lot of electronic to the chain.
Sounds like pretty old 44.1 ADC setup and much is lost in live broadcasts to begin with. I never experienced the collapsed sound stage, loss of air, and dry treble that you're system produces.
Wrong as usual. We know you don't have the ears to tell differenecs.
Convenient and it works fine - but takes a toll on transparency vs. direct from the SP20.
I also choose 96/24.
