If you're going to upgrade your present computer from 7 to 10 it can still be done free of charge. This link has been posted previously on the Asylum. It still works as of two weeks ago when I upgraded the last of our laptops from 7 to 10.

Follow Ups:
Old computers have troubles with drivers.
I wasted a lot of time upgrading my 2010 Dell only for Win10 to die a slow and painful death and had to roll back to Win7.
I upgraded my wife's computer and made a DVD copy of the Win 10 upgrade. For grins, I tried it on a copy of my Win 7 system on another SSD that I had for a possible dual boot system. After several tries, I gave up. It would keep running until it was getting nearly doe and then stop with a message that it couldn't continue and rolled back to Win 7. My guess is drivers or some software that couldn't be upgraded to Win 10.
The system wasn't that old, maybe 4 years, but it was a built it yourself and may not have supported the motherboard.
