  I've had digital devices power up and remain in a 'confused state' after an abrupt AC power glitch from the power utility. Unplugging the device for a while then plugging it back in will sometimes clear the 'confusion' ;-)

  My home network wifi router, computers, and switches are all on small UPSs not necessarily to keep them running for hours after a power outage, but to keep the power up during those abrupt and brief 'glitches' so they don't lose their minds! This was especially helpful with a network switch I had down the basement that would often go bonkers if there was brief power interruption especially during winter storms.

    This is a remote island and we lose power a lot. -- The Villa we have has a Generator, so the power goes out and the Generator fires up in about 20 seconds. So, All of the Network Gear, Raspberry Pi, My Phone is booting up..
    
    The first week or so, the router would assign the next IP Address to the Raspberry Pi, and things got confusing.. Mostly had trouble finding it on the network.. Solved that problem by assigning a fixed IP address to the RPi and it has been rock solid for a month now.

      That's just not acceptable! You'll have to take a couple solar panels with you to your next remote island getaway so you won't have to experience the horror of brief electricity outages in paradise ;-)

          Sadly Antigua is not part of the lyrics... But I can see Montserrat from here every day! It's only 25 miles..

      In my case I think it malfunctioned, and I unplugged it and walked away from it for a week. I should have tried plugging it back in before I posted. I probably didn't realize I hadn't tried.
      
      I do like getting little tips from you guys like assigning an IP address to your device.

    This may amuse you, but when the HAP was working I was confident I could build my own server, then as soon as the HAP malfunctioned all that self confidence immediately evaporated.
