Brother I love your spunk, but this isn't Computer DYI. You seem to be the biggest Pi cheerleader here and realistically it's not for everyone. I really enjoy reading your posts and if I had better DYI skills a Pi might be a fun hobby however after a career with Westinghouse selling factory automation products I really don't enjoy living it at home. Please don't respond to this but if you want this site to be dominated by 3 people building Pi's we all need to rethink the entire site.

I work at Bellevue serving soup to nuts! What system should I use?
I ordered a RPi after reading about it here and on another forum and had it up and running AND communicating with another piece of software in about 10 minutes. It really is easy. I then put a Hifiberry dac "hat" on it, something I also read about, and it was running instantly. This stuff isn't hard to do at all even without any knowledge. I think the biggest price of entry is having someone explain what to do. It is cheap and it works. I spent under $400 for 2 RPis, the hifiberry, and an iFi Nano iDSD dac, plus the Audirvana software that feeds it all. It sends music to 2 rooms, but not simultaneously yet. That's still in the works by both Audirvana and Volumio.
Audirvana runs on my iMac, and Volumio runs on the RPis.
It really is easy. I started with NOTHING in the middle of July, no knowledge, not even aware of what was available. I have 24/96 streaming into my kitchen right now as I type on the iMac acting as the server.
And then it can become the Bluesound Forum. You responded in a Raspberry Pi thread, so that is why we are talking about it. Maybe there is not that much to discuss in a 'Plug and Play' Thread.... But Hey, post all you want, no one is stopping you...And I didn't have a 'Career Selling Products'.... I had a Career Building Software Products, for others to 'Sell'... And there in lies the difference!

I well remember being told to "sell what we have developed" as the customers fled to the competition.
Not to scrap with you but Pi/ LMS is not the answer for everyone.

And that was always what the last prospect wanted rather than the market.... Our CEO was a Salesman. And if you sold what you haven't developed, it was called Vaporware or Future-ware....

You are so funny. I know that and simply made a comment based on what Abe said that when spending XXX number of bucks there are other avenues.

And who the heck started this thread anyway?
Let's blame it on him!
