  Not for me as I have a bunch of 24/176 and 24/192 content.
  
  Ah, but do those higher resolutions even make a difference in many secondary systems, like garage, workshop, bedroom, deck, etc? I wonder if LMS will automatically downconvert to 24/96 or lower so Chromecast Audio will handle the playback? Or will it just choke and lockup?

    The difference is not being able to play them!

    Out of the box, it will not. I suspect the CC would be silent. There was a firmware mod written for the Touch to do just that - so long as you used the S/PDIF output.
