It's always good to hear a compliment about your setup. Guess I'll move on from thoughts of the Node 2. I do like the MBP.
Follow Ups:
the DAC is very good you have, can do 24bit which is very nice.
I use a Macbook Pro sometimes, but usually to record music. I haven't listened to youtube in quite awhile. There are some great rare music on there that one can listen to that you really can't hear legally anywhere else.
Maybe only suggestion is to look into getting a high end USB cable if you haven't already, something better that stock USB. I've been on the lookout for something myself for my main system but can't justify spending $100 on a USB cable but they do make a big difference.
Yea, I have some quality USB cables already. Wireworld Starlight 2, Furutech Formuala 2, Audiocadabra Optimus (obscure). Since my HDD on the MBP failed, I had to replace it. I added an SSD. That changed the sound of my system. The sound I was getting with the MBP has been more refined with better clarity, but lost fullness and weight. I read a similar comment on another forum from a guy who changed to an SSD in his MBP. I did not like the change. I will see how things develop. I have a PC as well and just got an Audioengine B1 and a Bluetooth adapter. I will try streaming to my rig from a Windows PC which I know for many reasons the SQ will not be of MAC quality. I'll also try the Audiogine DAC first and then run the Audioengine through the PS Audio Nuwave. Expect good things from that combination. I have yet to work with any high resolution music.
My guess is there is less noise with the SSD. You get a more pure digital signal which lets you know how crappy 16bit 44.1khz really sounds.
I found the same issues with Redbook on a ramdrive and USB. I don't know the solution to that.
Either way have fun with it all. I have an Audioquest USB cable somewhere I have to dig up so I can listen to some music from YouTube.
Good listening.
Thanks, a person can get slammed or ignored on Agon, AA and other forums for posting anything about listening to Youtube. I plan to listen to Tidal at some point knowing it will be a new world.
Is that Blue Circle I see in the picture?

I subscribe to Tidal and Deezer Elite. I prefer the selection on Deezer Elite, both are lossless.
YouTube is really great for music. I just found a USB cable, finally some selection of good music with YouTube. I find the streaming services to be lacking.
