It is a great combo.
Has anyone compared SQ or functionality of this application with the microRendu vs. the Digione or other Roon endpoint?
I use LMS and have both a uRendu and RPi/DigiOne. The uRendu is a bit more transparent, but the differences are not night and day. The uRendu is really optimized for USB output if your DAC supports it. Functionality is pretty much the same except that the RPi does support WiFi - which is needed for my garage application. FWIW, the price of the uRendu is now $499.
With either unit, the power supply is very important. Don't settle with an inexpensive SMPS. I use a Jameco linear or 2A Jockery battery with the RPi and an Uptone LPS-1 with the uRendu.
Follow Ups:
I'll look into the power supplies you and others have listed. I've heard folks say that the PS at the Roon endpoints makes a huge difference, more so than going from a Mac as the Core to something like a Sonictransport, Nuk or Nucleus. So that's on my list.
I'll likely be back to hound y'all for help as I move forward!

Allo will tell you that the power supply for the RPi is not a key contributor to overall sound quality. Theirs for instance is $11.
