For some people there seems to be a great problem when someone suggests a simple tweak which can improve their listening experienceI encountered the same attitude & irrational behaviour from a number of posters on DIYAudio when I suggested that a simple $15 RF attenuator would improve their sound when placed inline at either end of their SPDIF cable.
As we see here, there was a lot of hot air & energy expended on posting reasons for not trying such a simple & cheap tweak.
And like we see demonstrated here - those same people used their energy & effort arguing & never once tried the $15 RF attenuator or in this case the $10 battery.
Go figure!

You might forgot that I've been using LiFePos and attenuators during those days. Even before you went commercial with it.
I'm not questioning what these parts can do to a system - btw.Beside that - as far as I recall - you were not even the person who came
up with the battery thing over at DIYA. You just made a business out of it.Some people evolve, some stay where they are (especially if business comes into play)
Fmaks warning, respectively the Svensson warning, from yesterday is just one issue associated to the subject.
As I said. I'd use batteries just to show/to figure out that/if things can be done better.
The past years have shown that things got better and LiFePo solutions are not needed if the engineering is done right. I'm pretty sure that Svensson is gonna face that challenge. He has to. iFi passed already by.
Anyhow. Good luck for the future.

No, I don't remember you ever talking about LiFePO4s or RF attenuators before I posted about them - I certainly don't remember you saying how superior they were as a power source or suggesting a configuration directly powering any 3.3V digital chipsI don't remember you mentioning RF attenuators or their use in front of SPDIF receivers & again the improvements that they often bring.
But if you did I certainly didn't see them or I wouldn't have started those threads - nor did you or anyone else refer me to your posts & tell me my threads were "old hat" & had been done before!
Most things aren't totally new in the world - most ideas come from other ideas or concepts. Sometimes putting two existing ideas together in a new way can bring something new to the table.
AFAIK, I was the first one who used a LiFePO4 battery to directly power the 3.3V circuitry in the then popular Hiface USB to SPDIF converter. I outlined this step by step on DIYAudio & explained the process & connections for people to DIY themselves. I got many PMs from people asking me if I could do this for them as it was smd work they couldn't handle & I did but I then began to charge for this work.
Great to hear that you have found ways to better a LiFePO4 battery directly running the Regen in the way I have documented. You've stated this before & I suggested that you post this superior approach. So far you have not done so, but I'm sure people would be very interested in your claim & would love to test it out for themselves.
I look forward to hearing about this!!

I never said I found a better way to tweak the Regen. I'm not even looking for a way.
I said, Svensson will probably do so.The point is. It's just a pretty dirty hack you're talking about.
And if not done right can easily fry your device.I hacked more then one device like that in the past.
It was always a nice step up in beginning. At one point things (handling) get annoying.
You know better then I do that if you want to go commercial with it - meaning introducing waterproof modifications - you can't just run these dirty hacks.
That's why I guess that you'll come up with a commercial solution sooner or later.
Meanwhile you keep the momentum up by having these discussions.
I hope you appreciate my support.

"I never said I found a better way to tweak the Regen."Oh, forgive me but you have stated more than once, the following assertion:
"The past years have shown that things got better and LiFePo solutions are not needed if the engineering is done right."
So are you saying that you use LiFePO4 batteries to check out if a power solution sounds as good as they do? In other words you use them as your reference PS? Maybe you can clarify what you mean by the above statement which you have made more than once?
"You know better then I do that if you want to go commercial with it - meaning introducing waterproof modifications - you can't just run these dirty hacks.
That's why I expect that you'll come up with a commercial solution sooner or later.
Meanwhile you keep the momentum up by having these discussions."I don't know why you focus on "commercial" - you seem obsessed by this? I offered this as a DIY solution for anybody who feels confident & has the necessary minimal DIY skills can do. To complete the configuration all one needs is to connect two switches into the configuration - one between the battery & the Regen & another between the trickle charger & the battery.
You seem to make lots of statements which you can't back up as we see here & your accusations are just another such baseless claim
I'll tell you what - if you really think that I'm doing this to drum up interest in a future product why don't you pitch in & help people create a "clean" hack that will mean they won't need my alleged future product? Instead of trying to damage me & my reputation why don't you prevent my alleged future customers from buying my alleged future product?
Or is all of this just the sound of your paranoid hot air, escaping?
