EXACTLY! I now serve 5 rooms with ONE library.

I do EXACTLY the same with my Mac Mini on the network!
I am still struggling to see the benefit of a 'streamer' from my perspective.

I am still struggling to see the benefit of a 'streamer' from my perspective.
Being able to use a single digital library with multiple players located around your home. I'm able to use it in five places:
1. Office where server is located via Foobar through in house system. Fairly mid-fi using Kenwood receiver from previous owner and through ceiling speakers. But also covers dining room, den and out by pool where I use MonkeyMote, an iOS based remote.
2. Main music system upstairs through Touch player / ARC DAC
3. Garage system through Touch player (cheap DAC on the way!)
4. HT system using Oppo BD-103
5. Bedroom system (actually anywhere in Wi-Fi range) via iPad using iPeng app.
Don't know why you bother. You will probably get another cut and paste "I don't get it" response.
Abe, I know you are not an idiot.Think of a "streamer" as a music player that receives your files from your library via ethernet or wifi, renders them, then sends the data to your DAC.
Simple, right?

And how is that so magical over any Mac or PC that can do EXACTLY the same thing? I stream music to the family room, master bedroom, guest room from my single media library that resides on my Mac in the home office.
What exactly am I not getting here?

WHAT actual thing in your guest room, family room, and guest room is RECEIVING the files?
And what does that thing do when it received those files over your network?
I've had several setups like this including Squeezebox to DAC, AppleTV to DAC, Amazon Fire TV to DAC, Roku to DAC, iPad to DAC, and other 'client' devices in various parts of the house. These receive streamed content from the Mac in my office (and other content sources) over the network and play them in the room they are in via a DAC, into an amp, and out to speakers.
The other scenario is streaming to the Mac from various sources over the network.
There is nothing a 'streamer' can do that cannot be done by a Mac or PC.

Then I am going to make it REAL simple. The "streamers" I speak about..Bryston, Simaudio, T&A, Aurender, SOtM, Bel Canto, Auralic, and dozens more are HIGHER end..yes HIGHER end then the SBT, the Apple TV, etc.
Apple TV and Squeezebox et al are hondas and toyotas. The others are Porsches and Ferraris. Real simple.
I used SBT's, I used Sonos, I used many cost effective clients. Just like you they all received files from a central library...but here is what you deny, or refuse to except, or just can't fathom...
The performance gains by the next step are enormously easy to ear.
The day I compared the Bryston BDP-1 to my squeezebox was a game changer. Same files, same DAC, same digital cable, same ethernet cable etc,
I really hope you "get" what I am describing now..for the tenth time.
Now let me conclude that distributed/networked audio with Apple TV, Roku..what ever is fine..but there are higher levels of performance to be achieved.
There is no magic.

Sure they're higher end but if you don't need higher end in the "other rooms" why would one bother? My MAIN ROOM has the high-end setup via the Mac> DAC so from my perspective why would I need a high-end streamer?

Why would YOU bother you mean.
I have 3 high performance systems in three different rooms. Apple TVs etc are not good enough and they don't play high resolution files.
In your main system..just like you like to juggle DACs..go borrow some streamers and compare to your Mac Mini...they YOU come back and give the results, although we already know that you will never allow your beloved Apple to come in 2nd.
I have 3 high performance systems in three different rooms.
Good for you. Not everyone needs 3 high performance systems.
I have no need for the limited functionality of a high-end 'streamer' when I'm completely satisfied with my main setup.
Do you have some sort of agenda in trying to push everyone toward streamers? One size does not fit all and the more I research high-end streamers I'm finding that none do precisely what I require but my main setup does.

"Abe, I know you are not an idiot. "
How do you know Abe is not an idiot???
Have you had Abe in your house and compared him to other idiots?
Please hold yourself to the same standards your demand from others here when they express their opinions!!!
You really are a sad case. And not even funny to boot. I don't mind clowns if they make me laugh. Sad clowns..nah.
