This is what I'm using. So far it's working very well. May be more than you wanted to spend.

The NAS looks good. What computer / player are you using to access it? Are you using it for anything in addition to your music files? Thanks.
I'm using the WD NAS with my iFi Nano iDSD and an old HP laptop running Win 7 which I use for music playback only. I do use it to back up documents, photos and video files from my primary machine.
It gets a lot of use as storing the library from which I play back my movie library. I've had no problems with it at all so far. Far better than the LaCie NAS it replaced.
I may just get a "handful" of additional 1TB Seagate USB expansion HDs. They are dead silent , i can hook them up to my Auraliti w/ the Audioquest "Coffee" USB cables (I currently
use) & on second thought i think I prefer to keep this a "Component" rather than "Network"
player.
I use a Motorola SBG6580 Modem/Router w/ Comcast as my ISP.. My router has been
rebooting itself (of its on accord) on a regular & random basis. With my music player set up as a "component" I pretty much ignore this nonsense. I don't think I want to change that.
Thanks anyway. I'm not sure I want to "fix" something that isn't "broken"
