  a sonic difference when the unit is powered from a linear 9V supply instead of the 'high performance' switcher supplied.
  
  Linear power slightly mellows the sound and that is good for slightly bright systems.
  
  The ground switch definitely makes a difference but it is system dependent. On some, there is little or no sonic difference.

      the circuit board inside says that the usb connection is impedance compensated, whatever this means.
