and not picking a fight...
Could you share your rationale behind DSD over 24/96 or 24/192 PCM?
Is it a simple matter of trying to get better sonics?
If you're digitizing and can pick any format, why did you land on this one?

Can you please recommend a good but not too expensive analog to digital converter for 192/24 PCM? Possibly one that is incorporated into a stereo preamp, preferably with an MM phono input.
Thank you in advance,

.
A mac computer running Pure Vinyl software being fed by a pro audio interface like RME or Lynx or many others is a very viable option.
it would be your DAC, your ADC, your phono preamp, your music server, etc.
see link below
In the earliest days of CD's I hated the sound and stayed with analog. Only when SACD came along I started to enjoy digital music. I realize that the PCM situation is much better now, and I will probably go to the 192/24 solution, as I wrote in an earlier post in this thread. No need to fight.

Same here. Hi-rez PCM was a major improvement that I now can enjoy for the most. SACD (as DSD> analog) is still my ear-candy for music that I can find in the format.
I just didn't want you to feel attacked, as that was not my intent.
Did you go through a search for DSD-capable players? Can you shortlist some interesting findings?
And did you get into DXD at all?
Cheers,
Presto
Not a thorough research really. I thought I might use the VAIO, if it is capable at all. I am not sure, can the OPPO BDP-93 read a DSD file from an external disk?
As you see, I am deeply rooted in analog. A novice in digital, I do not know what DXD means. I guess I will take a look.
Thanks for the insight.
