Wow, when you don't actively follow an artist you can miss gems.
Heard this first time tonight, a cover by Tom Jones no less ... works for me!! ... heard on BluesFM Saturday Night (JazzFM91 - Toronto).
Released by Dylan in 1989 ... missed by over 25 years ! :(
Follow Ups:
Thing about Tom Jones is that he can flat out sing.
Decades ago David (Tip-Jar) Clayton Thomas appeared on Jones's show when BS&T II was riding high. The two had a kind of shoot-out and Jones just buried Thomas.
Agreed,
an under-rated gem of an album- Oh Mercy.
that's too easy to miss. It's very much a precursor to the Dylan/Lanois masterpiece "Time Out Of Mind".
One of the best things about recorded music is it's NEVER too late to discover a new (if old) gem.
