One person on Amazon thought this was the worst cd he had ever heard in terms of recording quality. IMO it's the people who don't love Bill Evans that are the freaks. Just sayin'. Do you like Warren Bernhardt?? I believe he studied with Evans. T456

I did check my remaster of this Bill Evans classic and it was from 1999
mini-lp Japan import edition. This copy may be the 1st JVC K2 coding as well?
A few years later in 2001, those U.S.A. "red" cover K2 editions hit the market. Between the CD, SACD, mini-lp CD, SHM-CD/SACD editions, it all gets very confusing, very quickly.
Some of Bill Evans titles were remasters of the OJC editions in 2011 and 2013 too.

Yes, I do enjoy Warren Bernhardt. His drummer is the outstanding Peter Erskine ( a master of the brushes)!
Another thought;
some titles have been re-mastered so many times, that, there is bound to be a "bad" issue. As much as I enjoy and collect Japan imports, the 2008 issue, may be a one-off in terms of poor quality.
ICE Magazine from the 90's / early 2000's wrote an article way back then, talking about the "remaster craze". Specifically, the writer talked about any title , any genre, could be remastered every 4 years due to changing technology. As we now can look back- this is true. Between the USA, UK and Japan, some albums or titles have been remastered every 4 years?

this album, like so many Jazz classics, has been re-mastered to death.
There are too many copies, if you ask me.
I will have to check my remastered copy for the specific year.
