WHO KNEW???
J.S. Bach's personal copy of Luther's Bible Translation is in the library of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis!
It is the ONLY known set of books or even book authenticated to have come from Bach's personal library.

That is fascinating. I remember reading that at his death, the music books were all gone (no doubt taken by his sons) but a large library of religious books remained. It's disappointing that this is the only one that can be authenticated as coming from that library, but wonderful that it survives.
And there are 25 marginal notations by Bach.
His JSBach monogram of sorts is in the lower right of that image.

PS: Plaudits to the family that acquired it and donated it.
