According to Lisitsa, the TSO had lawyers combing over her tweets since December to see if any of them could be considered "hate speech" - they gave up. So Sunier had to resort to the phrase "bordering on hate speech". It kind of raises the question as to what is legitimate satire/sarcasm and what is hate speech. And, frankly, I don't want an organization such as the Toronto Symphony (which hardly has a sterling past in standing up for human rights - even of its own players!) making that decision for me.
Follow Ups:
Sunier is Curmudgeon for sure.
He always has some disparaging comments on Hi-Res Audio.
He often refers to some "Problem" with 24/192,
which I have not encountered, nor has he explained.
He inserts many Editorial Comments into a lot of the Long-winded Reviews on his site,
which I find as annoying as some of the Reviews!
Still, I read what interests me.
And then there's reviewer Gary Lemco - master of the long-winded purple prose. ;-)
Some of the other reviewers are OK though, and even Lemco and Sunier make valid points once in a great while.
BTW, regarding long-windedness, when I wrote for High Fidelity Review, one requirement they had was that any review you submitted had to be 1,000 words (minimum), thus eliminating anything short and sweet.
