At only $75, it's pretty much a no-brainer for me. Even though I have many of the discs from the original reissue series from the early 90's, it would be great to have them all in a neat and compact box. The newly added material will be a nice bonus as well. I do wonder, however, what the remastering will be like. I've been pretty satisfied with the sound from the early-90's CDs, but RCA re-released several titles in newer remasterings in (I believe) the late 90's with inferior sound. While I haven't heard all of them, what I have heard of the newer remasterings sounded very 'enhanced' to my ears--added bass to give extra warmth, rolled-off highs to smooth out the previous harshness of the earlier discs, and some artificial reverb added to make the sound more palatable for 'modern' ears. While these CDs sounded good on the surface, I suspect that the rawer, grittier sound of original CDs from the early 90's are truer to the source. I guess we'll see what the new set brings!

....that they've used the newer remasterings when available. I agree with you about the relative merits of these vs. the original early 90's CD issues, so this is somewhat disappointing - but for $75, how disappointed can I be?

Apparently, the first batch of this set had an error - the 1949 Eroica was missing, and instead the 1953 Eroica was included twice. I believe that's the reason why this set has had its USA release delayed several times.
Wow....$75!
I have got this a couple of weeks ago, a first basic advantage being compactness: it takes much less space that the various earlier incarnations (including the Philadelphia and the BBC recordings plus the opera recordings) as separate jewel-boxes.
Based on a first sampling, the sound appears to be further slightly improved: e.g. the Falstaff is now in line with the best recordings of the early fifties (maybe, the voices are too close up). The DVD includes some interesting material.
To sum up, it is certainly worth the price.
