Return to Planar Speaker Asylum

wow this guy re-did his RS1's in maple, parting with them for only $2K..Cleveland area.
Legendary Infinity RS-1b tower speakers in perfect shape. These retailed for $12,000 in 1990. Designed by Arnie Nodel the audio engineer way ahead of his time. I had all the solid oak cabinets wrapped in solid walnut veneer and solid butcher block construction tops and bases made of maple and inlay of solid walnut. Total cabinet upgrade: $3,000. I rewired using quality cable and silver solder, added binding posts and spike feet. I also replaced the oak ends on the servo/crossover controller with walnut. These all work and in perfect shape and mechanical performance. Google these and see why critics still regard these as the best sounding line of speakers ever made. I even have the original manual and extra notes. Asking $2,000. I'm located in Martins Ferry Ohio

Nice build, probably sound great. If you have the right room, these would look (and I'm sure sound) fantastic.
Good catch
I have a couple of friends who might want that. What are the contact URL/email for that?.
Lovely project - really gorgeous and a legendary system, It is only non planar in the bass, which is a reasonable compromise..
It's on one of the audiophile pages on FB .
I asked him if he'd be willing to ship and he said most likely not since that would probably add and $1K but even still I see it as a potential power house deal..
Don't you think it could be TOO GOOD a deal?
I mean, for the same 2k$ you could get into a new pair of 1.7i
If I had a 5000 cubic foot room of the correct dimensions, the IRS would be MINE.
Too much is never enough
I figure you couldn't go wrong either way. But I'm thinking the IRS are being offered waaay under market value and would probably fetch a much higher resale down the road (provided of course they're in good condition). Not to mention it would round out my bucket list of speakers.THIS one however would definitely top off my list ;).

One friend is in Cleveland and the other (actually two) are in town in east suburban columbus.
