  Thanks all for your input.
  Right now...am breaking in too many changes to the system to be able to judge the crossovers contribution..
  New XLRs , new speaker cables, new power cords...am gonna put in 24/7 music to the system for about a week before I give the system a more serious listen.

  Depends on what config you ordered. Was it a two way copy of the stock slopes as you discussed before? If so then you leave everything connected as it is unless one of your amps is phase inverting.
  
  If you are triamping then you might need to swap polarities to match with the XO you chose to implement in the XM 44.

  I believe the required inversion of the polarity of the drivers is done internally and not in the OEM crossover box, so you should just connect normally.
