Return to Planar Speaker Asylum

New feet are different from the older style. The edges are chamfered, one leg is longer and there is a third hole with a plug on one side.
Which way are these mounted on the IIIa? Long leg forward and flush to the speaker or short leg forward with the plug spacing the foot a bit?
I'll call Magnepan tomorrow if we can't find an answer. Thanks, but wanting to here em sooner than later.

Look if you put the so called long leg forware an mont to the 3a....Then what showes in the front... Is same size as the back leg....goodluck
Just guessing, but I would put the long leg back and short leg forward and leave the plug in place. I suspect they stopped making the original legs (if you want them I can send you a pair for the cost of shipping) and are using what they use for the newer models.
Here's a quote from the 3.7 manual:
C. Note that one end of the foot is longer than the other end. Place the longer end toward the front of the speaker.
Carefully align the foot on the backside of the panel so the holes in the foot line up with the bolts in the panel.
Using your fingers, insert a bolt through the center hole until the bolt engages with the nut in the panel. Do not use a screwdriver until the bolt has engaged the threads. Care must be taken not to cross-thread the
bolts.
Makes sense since the forward leg has to extend an extra inch or so since the foot attaches in the back.
