    And .............I am still pissed . I didn't make it to the meeting. so I will have to make a special trip next week , I was so looking forward to finally getting to hear them. However sometimes it's family first .

  I had a nice listen today. I went to see my dealer about a solution for my speaker cables - he's going to call Audioquest Monday, but he doesn't see any reason why they can't re-terminate them for me (they are a bi-wire design which won't work with the 3.7s on the way ;-). He had the 1.7s in the listening room and I listened to what I took as well as some of his demo stuff. The last time I heard these 1.7s, they were still fresh - they've had a little time to season now.
  
  I'll post my impressions from yesterday's session tomorrow, but I will say that my primary opinion is exactly as it was on the first listen. I haven't listened to that many models of Magnepan speakers, but the 1.7s sound more like a pair of electrostatics than any pair I've heard yet.

      ...they are coherent. It's a quality that's incredibly striking. They definitely need the assistance of a pair of subs, but what they cover is done seamlessly. I like them a lot. I can't wait to hear the 3.7s!

        Me too. I think I'll make a trip when they show up in stores. I was waiting for the Mini Maggies, but I'm kinda losing patience on that . . .
