Glad to hear from another sailor.
Cheap Sailors. An oxymoron if there ever was one. But it is too true. In a hobby/sport/life where every little stainless fitting costs like it was made from solid gold, there are more cheapskate pennypinchers than you can shake a batten at.

Do you cruise, race, live aboard or all of the above? Feel free to PM me if you'd like to keep the sailing out of the Planar Asylum.

Here she is!
As I have a 3 year old son, we're mostly day sailing and weekending. My preoccupation with the boat had actually displaced audio for quite some time, though I kept the home theater upgraded.
Then I heard those 1.6/QR's and decided to put the new system together! 1st I said..."just speakers for now" and before you know it I'd added amp, CD player and all the rest. It's the power of Maggies!

  My Jezebel, a Morgan 36T (IOR race boat). Her interior was rather utilitarian but she was so fast! Sold years ago. :-(
  
  Your boat is beautiful. As your son grows, you'll get more time on the water. I grew up sailing and couldn't get enough. Raced and cruised. Sailing is wonderful for kids and families. Someday he's going to ask to take the boat out with his friends (or girlfriend)... yikes.

      There were only six naked beautiful blondes. :-)
      All looked alike, all left their matching blue bikinis on the beach.
      They spoke a language that may have been Swedish (like German, but not German).
      We guessed that they may have been some sort of bikini team because they were all the same height, same hair, same body, same bikini. Very odd and VERY nice.
      
      Boatload? I guess so. Six of them, plus my brother and I, on a small open cockpit daysailer. All scrunched together like sweaty sardines trying to sail the damn boat.
      
      These poor girls had rented the boat and obviously had no sailing experience. My brother and I watched them struggle for awhile and then offered to help them. What would you do?
      
      PG - If you have a picture, I'd love to have it! My camera was at the hotel. Cameras are frowned upon at nude beaches (also nude bars, nude restaurants and nude shops. Damn!).

        That's good, but it doesn't beat this guys story....
        
        There he was butt naked with his (also butt naked) buddy and he gets invited for a sail with a boatload of voluptuous naked european women, sitting next to him, falling into him, all pressed together in the boat for HOURS.....

        In nautical lingo that means the tiller (steering stick) has been pushed to downwind and the boat is about to tack (come up into the wind and turn the other way).
        
        What, you ask, does this have to do with naked blondes?
        Well... sailboats are tippy and the crew (called rail meat) must sit on the upwind side so the boat doesn't tip over. When the boat is very small and the crew consists of two amorous naked American men (me and my brother) and six beautiful blonde naked foreign (possibly Swedish) women, there is alot of contact. Every tack or jibe (turns) was an excrutiatingly fun time.
        
        Those days are all in the past. I am married now and will never have to suffer an agonizing day of rubbing against a group of sweaty naked women. :-)
