I had 'the perfect prescription' by Spacemen 3 - then I found Floating in Space BP by Spiritualized last week. I dunno if it's everybody's cup of tea but I think 'I think I'm in Love' is an absolute hoot !
Follow Ups:
My favorite is "Lazer Guided Melodies." Also fond of Spacemen 3. And
let's not forget a nod to Hawkwind, the godfathers of FX. And Lee Perry,
the godfather of reggae FX. Regards,
J.R.

Yo Sordidman !
BP means British Pharmacopoeia - it's a kind of standard - like the kitemark - the amusingly acronymed 'BS' (British Standard) but for drugs. The whole packaging of the album is a copy of the BP packaging - right down to the warnings on the packet. 'For aural administration only'.
...of this masterpiece on 12 5-inch cds, which come in 2 cards of 6 foil-topped push-out pill containers.
An unopened one can fetch £300 however!
;o)
I have that version, as well as the single disc version that came in the smaller cardboard pill packaging. Unfortunately, I bought the 12 disc version used, and someone had opened the foil over the first disc. It's still a very cool piece though, completely unwieldy and fragile, but cool.
An absolute classic. Not everyone likes Pierce's production, but for me that is one of the best records of the 90's.
...on Vinyl for eight years - it even sounds good on CD!!!
By the way, My Bloody Valentine's 'Loveless' is the best album of the nineties ;o)

Also a great record, and another one of my favs from the 90's.
"Loveless" is another one of my favs from the 90's, it could do with a remastering though...
I've heard people say good things about My Bloody Valentine but somehow I've never listened to any. Thinks.... must rectify this.
And I just ordered 'Motion' by the Cinematic Orchestra on vinyl. I can't wait !
They're very much an acquired taste...
If you're able to download stuff, the ones to go for are Loveless and Isn't Anything.
Give them time ;o)
I've come to the conclusion that a lot of the music I love is an acquired taste! I'm clueless with downloading but I know someone who can help. I remember going into parrot records on King's Street and seeing a load of Valentines' records. I bought a lot of discs there but living where I do and what with the demise of the record (and even CD shop - at least here) as we know it, I'm kicking myself now.
